She was once offered the part of "Jet Girl" in the film "Tank Girl" but she declined saying "I think I should stick to singing."

"I can't beleive the crazy things I'm supposed to have done," a breathless Björk tells TOTP Magazine, rining us on her way to Heathrow airport. Iceland's most famous pop star is dashing from country to country in the middle of a huge tour, and everywhere she lands the usual tales about her wacky ways go before her. There's the old chestnut about her licking the dirt off the walls of her flat and the one about her having to strip butt naked in order to sing properly. "I'm flattered and impressed by the imagination of the British media. These stories compliment me because they make me far more interesting than I really am. I'm very down-to-earth and ordinary." Hmmm.
It's been a hectic few months for Björk but she's had to slow the pace a little after a nasty scare last year. In the midst of her American tour, she lost her voice mid-song, leaving little more than a hoarse whisper. This terrible shock made Björky burst into tears, only to find that the audience followed suit and the whole auditorium was awash with wet hankies!
"It was a very frightening experience," recalls Björk. "My whole life could have changed if I'd lost my voice for good but luckily I've come through the tunnel now. It turned out it wasn't my voice being over stretched, it was my body that was exhausted. I'd been working non-stop and becuase of jet lag and stress I hadn't slept for a week. I am much more aware now of trying to live a healthy life and finding time to sleep."
A more relaxed schedule should also allow Björk to spend more time with her family - 10 year old son Sindri and, the new man in her life, jungle master Goldie - who supported her at last month's Wembley concert. The couple were spotted enjoying an intimate canoodle at the recent NME Brat Awards, but Björk remains tight-lipped about her new beau. Although she's less shy when mentioning one of her previous dreamboats.
"Yes, I used to fancy David Attenborough. I had a real crush on him when I was younger. I always fall in love with peoples imagination and creativity. He was able to show you all these things that you never imagined existed. I found that very mysterious and a big turn on!"
Who needs the media to make up kooky stories when you're a "down-to-earth and ordinary" gal like Björk!
